This blog will deal with new and old news and just about anything else that strikes our fancy, and hopefully yours.
However, just to prove that we're not totally self-centered, we will have a section for reader requests and comments. If you would like us to explore a topic or expand on one of our articles, you may let us know.
We are Michael, Marilyn and Declan. I'm tempted to say that we're average people but it wouldn't be true. In the first place because “average” is an abstract concept; nobody in the world is average, and there's nothing abstract about us bloggers. And because what we do best is question everything, take gadgets apart to see how they work, hold lengthy discussions about a wide variety of topics and come up with a great many ideas on how to fix the world, that’s what we will be sharing with you.
Why the name?
We decided to call our blog The Unpredictables simply because we're honest. The mass media, the corporate media, and even the independent media are all unpredictable: You never know what you're going to hear about in the news when you wake up because the news of the day depends on what they’re selling you at the moment. We, on the other hand, admit upfront that we never know what we’re going to be talking about and we have no sponsors to worry about yet.
The advantage here is that we’re going to be searching the media and the social networks and share our conclusions with you, saving you hours of googling for an honest opinion because we’re not out to sell you anything. Having said this, we will be asking you to make a reasonably low monetary contribution to our endeavor to keep us from starving.
Another advantage is speed. We're turtles. And we usually win the race against the hares. This means that we will not tweet every single thought that pops into our heads, it will take us about a week to come up with one worth sharing. Why? Because we like our mistakes to be memorable, not made in a moment of haste.
What topics are we going to deal with?
News on international affairs. We will be posting articles that hopefully allow us to make sense of international politics and how it affects every one of us.
Specific news on Irish and Argentine affairs, because that's where we live and love and would someday like to prosper.
Michael will share his knowledge of technology, which is vast, besides a variety of other topics from philosophy and art to parenting and gardening in his down-to-earth style that makes you think you could even understand the theory of relativity if he explained it to you.
Declan is our unpredictable philosopher and mystic. Also, great at juggling and has a good head for numbers.
Art, literature, history, politics, psychoanalysis, philosophy, education, technology, zoology, sociology, animal care, everyday life and everything else that strikes us as worthy of sharing will be posted here.
All posts will have their translations into Spanish and English, eventually.

Advice on interpersonal relationships will also be available. Yes, we have a Dear Abby section, too.
